If you don’t have a week to enjoy Mikumi National Park, but still want to experience its beauty, book this Mikumi National Park 1-Day Private Safari Tour from Dar es Salaam. Go on a private game drive within the park with a guide who knows the best spots to see the wildlife. Sightings range from lions and zebras to giraffes and elephants. Most meals, and round-trip transport from Dar es Salaam are all included for an easy safari tour.
Day 1 - early morning
According to the pick-up schedule agreed upon when booking (around 3AM), we will pick you up from the agreed location in Dar es Salaam City and set off for Mikumi. The trip takes about 5 hours, and along the way we will stop to see a sisal plantation where you will have the opportunity to see how this precious plant grows, is harvested and processed. On the way we will also stop for breakfast in a lovely place. Around 9AM we will reach the gates of Mikumi National Park. During safari game drive you will experience the wildlife and learn about different animals from our guide. As we know Mikumi National Park is really famous for big 4 which are lions, leopards, buffalos and elephants. You will get the time to ask the guide any questions concerning animals and wildlife in general and take lots of unforgettable photos. Late afternoon, after lunch we leave the park and go back to Dar es Salaam, where we will arrive late in the evening.
Itineraries
Day 1
Time : 8:00 pm
Trip to Mikumi and Maasai Boma
On your first day, we pick you up from your agreed location in Dar es Salaam. The time depends on, among others: depending on what time your plane lands. We drive to Mikumi National Park for about 6 hours with a break along the way for a meal. After reaching our destination, we go straight for an hour's rest in the camp. He will then arrive by car to direct you from your hotel to Mikumi Masai Boma. Mikumi Maasai Boma Cultural Group is a traditional cultural group that represents traditional Maasai activities and lifestyle. Boma to practice traditional Maasai dance (Maasai jumping), how to make a fire with traditional wood and stick, Maasai indoor house, traditional Maasai behavior, Maasai souvenirs. You will have the opportunity to try on traditional Maasai costumes and take many souvenir photos. After visiting Mikumi Maasai Boma, we go to the hotel to rest and overnight.
Day 2
Time : 4:00 pm
Safari
The next day was on safari. You will be picked up from the camp after breakfast and go on a full-day safari. You will start the game around 8:30 into the afternoon, then take a lunch break and continue playing the game. Game for sunset and return to camp. On this day you will experience wildlife and learn about different animals from our guide as we know that the Big Four Mikumi National Park which includes lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants have time to let the guide ask any questions you have about the animals and wildlife in its entirety .
Day 3
Time : 4:00 pm
Chizua Waterfalls
On this day, you will have breakfast around 7:00 a.m. and then a car will pick you up at 7:30 a.m. to take you to the starting point for the hike towards the waterfalls. Chizua Falls is located in Uvidunda Village, a 45-minute drive from Mikumi.
The hike to Chizua is 3.6 km from the starting point to the summit and the same distance of 3.6 km back to the starting point.
Along the way, you will see many plantations that are cultivated by villagers and are irrigated from water falling through an irrigation pipe. You can have very nice photos with good viewpoints, mountains and landscape viewpoints.
Day 4
Local food cooking
Traditional local food. On this day, you will have breakfast around 8:30. First, with your guide, you will go to the local market to do the necessary shopping, and at the same time you will learn what vegetables and fruits are grown and what constitutes the basis of Tanzanian cuisine. Then you will start working with them to prepare dishes typical of this region of Africa. After a whole day of feasting, the car will take you back to the hotel.
Day 5
Sugar Cane Plantation
Cycling through a sugar cane plantation. On this day, you will have breakfast around 6:30 a.m. and then a car will arrive at 7:00 a.m. to direct you from your hotel to the sugar cane plantation. For the trip, you will receive a packed lunch and water to use during the ride. Up to 30 minutes' drive from the hotel to the plantation. Then share the instructions and get started. You will learn not only how to grow reed and use it, but also other customs of local farmers. During the ride there are many stops and opportunities to take beautiful photos and nice views. About 15km and 15km to the end and then the car will bring you to your hotel the next day.
Day 6
Your Plan
The day we leave Mikumi and come back to Dar es Salaam. It's up to you what time we will leave for Dar es Salaam. It's best to go around noon so that you can reach the place before sunset.
